This page describes exactly what Group Intent does with your data. The operator of Group Intent is the data controller and can be reached at hello@groupintent.com.
What we collect
- Your email address, as given to your AI agent.
- Your buying intent: brand, model, any variant details you stated (such as storage or colour), quantity, your maximum price per unit, currency, country, an optional note, and how long you want it to remain active.
- The IP address the request came from, used only for abuse limits.
- Which pool the intent joined and when it expires.
Nothing is stored in a pool until you confirm the code we email you. An unconfirmed request is deleted automatically within a day.
Why we use it
- To send you the verification code.
- To group your intent with other buyers of the same product in the same country.
- To contact you by email if we negotiate a group price for that product. This is the whole point of the service and the only marketing-like email you will receive.
- To limit abuse, using counts per email address and per network address.
The legal basis is performance of the service you asked your agent to use, and our legitimate interest in keeping it free of spam.
How long we keep it
- An intent stays active for the number of days you chose (1 to 90, default 30). After that it leaves its pool and is marked expired.
- Expired intents are kept for up to 12 months so we can honour deals that were negotiated while they were active, then deleted.
- Pool totals (counts and units, never emails) are kept indefinitely as history on the public pool pages.
Who sees what
Public pool pages and the MCP browse tool show only aggregates: number of buyers, number of units and price ceilings grouped into broad bands. Your email address, exact price and note are visible to the operator alone. When we negotiate with a seller we share aggregate demand, never your identity, unless you later choose to buy. We do not sell data.
Service providers that process data on our behalf:
- Cloudflare — hosting of this site and the MCP endpoint.
- Supabase — database.
- Resend — delivery of verification and deal emails.
Your rights
Email hello@groupintent.com from the address you registered with to have every intent tied to it removed, to receive a copy of what we hold, or to ask a question. We act on removal requests within a few days. If you are in the UK or EU you may also complain to your data protection authority.
Terms, in short
- Group Intent collects demand and negotiates on behalf of a group. It does not sell products or process payments.
- A buying intent is a signal, not an order. You are never obliged to buy, and we cannot guarantee that a deal will be found for any pool.
- Any purchase you make is a contract between you and the seller we introduce.
- Do not register intents for other people without their permission; the code is sent to the email given.
- We may remove intents or block addresses that abuse the service.
